Twins able to answer bell, keep a good thing going

Alexi Casilla's four hits were the anchor, but call-ups such as Ben Revere and Rene Rivera also stirred the pot.

They beat KC with basically a triple A team playing, that doesn't say a whole lot about KC, but it was good to see it happen.

Kris Atteberry thinks he is the second coming of Herb Carneal. I have to turn the radio off because I can't listen to him. He always has to be talking, so much so that he misses two pitches as he rambles. Some gems from tonight: "The silenced hittin' sticks of Kubel, Morneau, and Thome." After Hoey gets a batter to ground out to Cuddy, Atteberry "as Cuddyer" says: "I'll take it big fella." And finally as Hoey comes out of the game, he says we will have a new "hurler" before Escobar bats. The only hurler is me listening to this guy. Hire Bob Kurtz NOW to take over Gordo's spot next year!! Atteberry CANNOT become the voice of the Twins.

I've enjoyed Kurtz this year. He is knowledgeable, let's the game flow and let's face it , so much better than the rest of the auditioners it isn't even funny.

I'm happy with this. Three in a row is three in a row, regardless of whom you beat. And some of the help came from seemingly unlikely sources, too. A portent of things to come - or a tease? Casilla finding himself, a bit? Tolbert the same? Or is it just one lucky night? We'll see. But despite everything, it's still three in a row.

At least Cuddy is sometimes swinging the bat at the first pitch, making the pitcher work a little. By the way, Atteberry is awful, but after so many years of Gordon, anything is a welcome change. I do like the acerbic trio of T-Rob, Wrench and Black Jack though.

I'm sick of all the Twins announcers. Radio and TV. I never got tired of old Herb and after hating Gordon at first, now think at least he has good pipes. But he loses track of the game and fails to give timely info. I was hoping Ted Robinson would be a little better as i used to like him on TV. But he asks Gladden and Morris too many questions. I think he's been out of broadcasting too long. Same with Kurtz with baseball. Has he ever done it before? Maybe they'll both get better with time. Give me Herb, Ray Scott, and Halsey.
