God bless you Methodist ministers! Bless you for your Christ-like actions. Thank you for rejecting the pharisee-like actions of the fundamentalists and right wing evangelicals.
And this is from the most conservative of the mainline protestant congregations.
Here in the DC area, about 6 of the UMC now do gay marriage ceremonies. Braving the wrath of the elders and the book of discipline = the church's rules.
From a friend who is a very active methodist , he told me t hat much of the church supports marriage for gays. the problem is that worldwide, the african branch votes as a block, which prevents an instant turnaround of the church's policy toward gays.
this too shall pass, or the church will split. to those who want to continue to live in the dark ages of human history, as the old saying goes about when you walk out the door -
Dont let the doorknob hit you where the Good Lord split you.
These Churches and ministers that are going against the teachings in the Bible and marrying gays will pay for their sins.
