OK liberals… Let’s see if the state of Minnesota historically has enough budget, or if Dayton is just blowing smoke…. Direct from usgovernmentspending.com and bls.gov/cpi/

Last 5 Years – MN State spending increase = 22%, Inflation = 11%,

Last 10 Years – MN State spending increase = 54%, Inflation = 27%,

Last 15 Years – MN State spending increase = 114%, Inflation = 44%,

> Last 20 Years – MN State spending increase = 183%, Inflation = 66%,

It is obvious that Minnesota has been in an out-of-control spending spree, sticking it to the Minnesota taxpayers, and that Dayton wants to continue this extravagant state funding on the backs of the hard workers of Minnesota,

What do we get for our money… Overpaid state workers; A vast number of people on entitlements; And Bogus social programs that benefit no one.

Always have to laugh at the liberal thought process...

Even if we double the income taxes on the top 2%, it will only cover less than 10% of the state deficit....

How does Dayton plan to cover the other 90%???? ….

Of course, he will have to substantially increase the taxes on the other 98% of us.....

Cutting the excessive state expenses????? No.... That is out of the question….

Logic and facts are not the strong point of Dayton… He knows that he can influence the gullible libs more by using rhetoric and propaganda to further his cause !!!!

Shut it down, Mark. Let people try out the Republican utopia of "small government." The GOP will be gone from Minnesota for decades.

Once again Repubs show that they are the party of my way or the highway. Regardless of who they hurt or what they do. They claim that Gov. Dayton is the one that won't budge, but it is they that are the ones that won't budge. A lot of the right-wingers are going to go down in 2012.

"leaving a $34 billion operation to an uncertain fate"...that's the key right there. It's a $34 billion operation already. That's what the Republicans proposed - and that's *already* an increase in spending. But Dayton wants more, and is willing to shut the government down to get it, over a tax increase that will cripple job creation in Minnesota and not affect him one little bit on his major source of income, his South Dakota trust funds.

We’ve got 28 days now and the clock is ticking and I’m willing to do everything and anything that I can think of, or anyone else can think of, that will be constructive to get this resolved,” Dayton said / except for being a leader, doing the will of the people and cut spending.

Please do what the rest of us modest income families have had to do for the past 5 years. Slash our family budgets. The fact that the state is at an impasse over a huge spending increase in terms of the biennial budget reflects how utterly out of touch government spending is relative to us mom & pops out there who have to look into every nook and cranny of our family budgets to CUT spending.

The Republicans passed a balanced budget with an increase in spending to boot. Has anyone asked Dayton what he intends to do with his unnecessary tax increases? Will those funds go to pay off the unions that got him elected? Just askin'.

You tried Governor a second time and they slapped your hand again. Everybody knows you are trying and they are not. Step away from the table. The Teapublicans are going to get so much heat they will come back crawling on their hands and knees! It won't matter. They have already shown the 98% of Minnesotans that they back the 2%. Fortunately 98% of the people still have 98% of the vote! Stick it too them in 2012!

You would think that the republicans would have taken full advantage of the commissioners advice and expertise BEFORE they set their "budget", wouldn't you?? Now the idiots want a forced audience, where they can demean the people who WERE DOING their jobs while the GOP fiddled and MN burned? Dayton is right. NO
