As the NFL lockout lingers, Christian Ponder took it upon himself to organize workouts in Florida, bringing with him the new playbook few have seen.

Looks like Ponder is making his move to be tabbed the opening day starter. Webb would be available as back up or spot starter. I'm warming up to the idea, but wouldn't expect a playoff appearance.

Signs of a great attitude and work ethic. It's too bad that it took a rookie to initiate this workout.

This guy Ponder is going to be special. I was only one of a few that was excited when we took him at #12. People need to realize this guy is as smart as they come and he is a natural leader and a A+ character. You wont see any headlines of off field issues with this guy. I think something special is about to happen for the Minnesota Vikings, something that we have never experienced as fans... I truly believe that. SKOL....

Here's hoping that this guy can bring the "character factor" to this team. The importance of this intangible has been missing for too long.

If this is all we get to talk about, I'll take it. Beats the stadium and the lockout. Kid is trying...more than I can say about many of our veterans. He is showing leadership and work ethic...I'm very impressed. Team has uphill battle though.....new offense, new coaches, rookie QB and a lockout....way behind the eight ball in our division in comparison to other teams during this lockout. I hope this crap is solved soon so we get our football.

I don't have an issue with Ponder performing. What i'm worried about is how healthy is he going to be after week 1 (whenever that may be) with this shoddy o-line.

I'm impressed with this guy already. Glad to see him stepping up and taking a leadership role with this team, something we have been lacking for a long time

If the Vikings front office knew a lockout was coming, then why didn't they issue a playbook to all their signed players? Lockout or not, these are the guys that the ownership will be paying to don the uniform when the games are played.

I'm impressed with Ponder! My question is why did it take a rookie to get workouts started? Where is our veteran leadership? Another reason why the Vikings took a dump last season.
