The Democrat Minneapolis city leaders are as effective at cleaning up storm damage as they are plowing the streets after a minor snowfall. Totally incompetent.

I think it so silly, just keep cleaning up only in Minneapolis would we need a "Official" clean up day... These volunteers will come and go as Jobs and family requirements change. Bye June 4th - 8 days from now I am hoping there is a handle on the situation.

"Only volunteers who register will be allowed to work"-----That seems kind of weird. So if I showed up with a chainsaw to help someone clear their yard, I would be chased away for not being on the official list? Gotta love bureaucrats...

I can just see Rybak right now, " We need 20 new full-time city workers to form a committee and decide what day will be the official clean up day!"

Wow! I don't recall any outstate disaster cleanup event waiting so long after the event to schedule clean up days... Urban red tape at it's finest? One hopes people will still be motivated to help when the day finally arrives! I know exactly how those with damage feel about waiting so long....

Funny, no where in this article did I read that clean-up was stopping until June 4th. Seems clear to me that with the comment- 'help to pick-up light debris', they are expecting help to completely rid the residents of any small remnants of the storm, not looking for survivors. I know it's hard, but try not to jump to the worst conclusions. Clearly after reading comments here, it's really hard for some.

@atomicpunk: If you hate Democrat Minneapolis so much, why stick around taking up valuable space? As for questions about "registered volunteers only," there's this thing called liability....?

Everyone is doing the best they can. I applaud the volunteers' efforts. We should be patting them on the back big time instead of whining about how things are or are not getting done. These volunteers are truly noble.
