Shame on them. These people should not be paid during this time. And I bet they won't reach an agreement either; both sides blaming each other. Yeah this is really good for the people of MN. They focused on crap that was not even important. Gay marriage puts no one to work.

We can vote them all OUT of office just as quickly as we voted them in. I read the other day in this paper that the "legislature was putting in long grueling hours". Like we are suppose to feel sorry for them?! I think the people running St. Paul need a reality check.

Shut it down. I doubt there's really that much we can't live without. The Legislature did exactly what they were elected to do.

Maybe we need to throw them all out in 2012! If there is a shutdown we could end up with roads closed or partially closed all winter due to road projects not getting done during construction season.

What about all the state workers. They depend on that money to pay their bills like morgages and property taxes. They are not like the pro football where they are making millions a year and people are worried how they are going to make it if there is a lockout. I thik the legislatures and govenern should get there pay checks back until they find a solution to the problem. Maybe the state could run a few more weeks with that money.

this is going to be a hard shutdown if people don't start contacting the newbies and telling them it's time to do their freaking job. if you can't get your picture of perfection, do SOMETHING... compromise. hard shutdown means nothing except jail, court, and welfare gets done.

Expensive highway construction projects,Yeh like the one between Rogers and Maple Grove down to 1 lane for 8 miles and not one person working, what a joke shut them all down.

I hope in the list of state employees and functions they consider "essential" in a shutdown we will not find Gov Dayton's name.
