Well done NICK BLACKBURN, it is nice to see that a pitcher can throw well over 100 pitches and be successful, thanks for the effort. I just wish that our coaching staff had more confidence in our starters or left them in longer instead of coddling them so much when they are in trouble. This would make them better pitchers and if it doesn't then get guys in here who can adhere to this policy....

The sad thing is, this team will probably win their last 25 out of 30 and it still won't be enough. It's good to know Blackburn hasn't quit. We all know Mauer has.

A squeeze play, a win and allowing a starting pitcher to throw over 100 pitches....I think we are making progress!

key to this victory: not letting the bullpen pitch

Great job by Blackburn, Span and the rest of the team. I do wonder why the Twins have not gotten rid of Kevin Slowey? Trade him or send him down to the minors. He is simply taking up space and obvious does not have the desire it takes to do what he must for the good of the team.

Pretty good drama in the ninth. Slowey getting the complete game and the mystery of who would be coming in from the bullpen. Nathan and Capps not available, Mijares hurt and Slowey with a hernia. Hughes just called up, he must have been the man!

I'm guessing Blackburn will go on the DL tomorrow so they can re-attach his arm. Using the Twins philosophy it must have fallen off right after the game. I'll bet they at least move his next start back. Not that long ago MLB pitchers would throw 9 innings and not even think about having the start moved back. And that was in the days when a 4 man rotation was commonplace.

The Twins need to duct tape Tolberts fingers to the bat!! That or get out the stapler!!!

Any update on Mauer DH'ing in AAA or whatever or was that just a story to fake us out.

One way to not have to worry about the struggling bullpen is have your starter go the distance. Good work Blacky. (Google Minnesporta to check out my recap and other stuff)
