The Arizona star called himself the draft's best player and a small forward. David Kahn has interest in trading the No. 2 pick for help.

So let me see if I get this straight. For the first time EVER, MN gets the #2 overall pick and already wants to trade it? This is what happens when you have a non-basketball guy run your team. Kahn is NOT a b-ball guy. Fire him and hire a smart NBA guy. Trade Beasley, and others. Have Love play the #4, D-Williams the #3, Wes play the #2. Now we would have size, length & athleticism at 3 positions!

keep the pick and draft D. Williams. trade Beasley. He plays erratically. He put up big number offensively but ineffective. Khan needs to go. somebody needs to buy t-wolves from Taylor.

I also agree with keeping the pick and drafting D. Williams; but I would suggest keeping Beasley unless they include him in a package that brings us Danny Granger. The reason we should keep Beasley is because whether or not he is erratic or not, the kid is still very athletic, gifted, and can put up big numbers in a short amount of time. D. Williams is being said to have a "Beasley" type skill set, but the draft is such a crap shoot that you can never know for sure what you are getting. Remember: at some point people were comparing Darko Milicic and Kwame Brown to solid NBA Players as well and they were wrong. I would like to see the wolves keep Beasley and trade the #2 pick and Johnny Flynn/Ricky Rubio for Rudy Gay/Danny Granger or keep the #2 pick and draft Williams, make Beasley or Williams the sixth man, and use their remaining assets (#20 pick, Flynn, pity) to try getting a veteran point guard.

Keep the pick and the player. Quit trying to be cute. The Wolves ALWAYS get screwed when they trade their picks (except for KLove)

There really is no simple solution to this quandary the Wolves find themselves in. It's hard for me to want them to get rid of our 2nd best player, Beasley, who has already gone for 20 points in an NBA season. I can guarantee you that Derrick Williams will NOT be scoring 20 points a game next year. Beasley will figure it out. I can only think of 2 guys in the league at his size that can do the things he does, one named LeBron, the other Carmelo. He's got the strength, athleticism and shooting ability to be a top 10 player in the league and I'm personally not ready to give up on him when he's only 22 years old. If the Wolves think they can get something of equal value to Williams in an area that we need, I say go for it. I also watched Kanter in the combine today and the guy is a house. He's 6'10" 260 at 18 years old. He's physical, skilled, can shoot, and has above average athleticism. Reminds me a lot of Al Horford. I wouldn't mind seeing him be the center of the future.

Sounds like another Flynn. Oversold on himself.

"Trade Beasley" blah blah blah.. Derrick Williams isn't near the prospect Beasley was, but you're ready to ship off Beas.. Okay.. Makes sense. They're similar players even.. They both will go inside or shoot outside, but avoid contact and defense entirely. Trade the pick to get into next year's draft that could be 10 deep.

I don't know where you get that ridiculous comparison. Flynn was exactly what you'd want, a humble but confident, well-spoken team player. Derrick Williams is trying to hype himself up into the #1 pick.
