Meanwhile: Xcel Energy reported nearly $203.6 million in net income in its first quarter ending March 31, a 22 percent increase from a year ago. (source: another article on this website) I wonder how many millions their CEO takes home, while we taxpayers have to foot the bill for those who cannot afford to heat their homes.

This is what happens when big business gets to set policies and moves jobs overseas. It is NOT that most are lazy, as one uninformed idiot put it, but there just are not enough jobs available. The job market is tough, and big business is hiring...In India and China. But hey...tax cuts for the oil companies so they can report record profits while the middle and lower class gets squeezed even more.

Have the person who just bilked the state out of 3 million dollars in bogus food stamp transactions pay these peoples utility bills. How much free assistance and money do the tax payers need to contribute to? I for one am tired of always funding everybody else. Wake up people, live within your means
