Thanks for sharing some stories. I think alot of your readers, including myself, would appreciate it if you would dedicate a few columns to Mr. Killebrew. It would be great to read more stories honoring him, and there must be plenty of great ones to share.

As a kid I worked a high school job as an usher at the Met. It didn't matter what the score was, if Harmon was close to coming to the plate there was still a chance.

I'm a lifelong Minnesotan but I've traveled all over the US. No matter what town, fans always talk with great love about watching the players that define our state. We were blessed to watch the greatness of Harmon, Kirby Puckett, Tony Oliva, Bud Grant, Alan Page and George Mikan. I hope Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Adrian Peterson stop to pay attention to what people are saying about the class of our heroes and how they touched so many lives.

I goes without saying that most of us never had the privelage of meeting Harmon, but we all feel that he was a close personal friend!!

That anecdote about Carew is disappointing. It rather tarnishes his image in my scrapbook. Playing hard and for the team at all times is a requirement.
