This is great. The only reason the Twins got away with it was that people were stunned. Where do i sign up?

Ummm, it's not being steamrolled. There is only one year left on the Metrodome lease, so time is running out to get an actual plan moving forward. Some will say, so what let them leave. Yeah, well the cost will be double to get another team in Minnesota because there would have to be a new one in place. Quit bickering & just get it done NOW!!!

We all know the Vikings are going to get a new stadium. I appreciate the vigor and resourcefulness of this small cabal of stadium opponents, but at the end of the day, the only thing their efforts will accomplish is to get this thing to court where a couple more million dollars in taxpayer dollars will be wasted ON TOP of the public portion of the stadium costs. I also understand the notion that rather than wasting taxpayer dollars on billionaires like Zygi Wilf, why not put the money to better use by spending it on education, infrastructure, law enforcement, or helping the impoverished? To answer that question, you should probably write your local legislator(s) and ask them why they don't sponsor a bill that allocates tax money for those Christian causes. That's their job and there is nothing preventing them from doing it.

The powers that be will never let this go to referendum because they know it will lose and they want it. What they want they get.

If the State would do what I have been saying all along there would be no problem getting this stadium built. Raise a state-wide tax and build the Stadium in Duluth where the jobs and the economy really need the investment. The couple dozen part time jobs a stadium would generate over the long run would have a far greater effect on the Duluth economy - those part time jobs here in the twin cities would have no appreciable effect. The land on the port can be obtained far less expensively through eminent domain than here in the cities. There is plenty of land on the port allowing for a large tailgating/RV park to be built. The short term construction jobs will have a larger effect on the Duluth economy than here. There are not enough bars, restaurants, or hotels in Duluth for an NFL sized crowd which would spur a mini boom private investment and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Stadium would not have the same effect in downtown Mpls, there is already ample capacity available. There would be a wonderful opportunity to build the passenger rail project from here to Duluth. The Duluth / Superior population is larger than Green Bay. Duluth and St. Louis county do not have the finances to construct and permanently support the operational cost of a stadium, therefore a state-wide tax would have to be developed. The people I have talked to in Greater Minnesota and in North Dakota all agree, build it in Duluth. Giter Done Skol!

Sign me up to collect signatures. I will go door to door in either Minneapolis, Ramsey County or both. The politicians are not listening to citizens and it's time they start.

This is horrible news sorry that some people will have to pay but it is worth it to have a nfl football team in the state. If people are making the vikings pay for everything is just crazy. If this somehow happens then basically these people ruin vikings football and basically ruined money for the state that they will be losing (tax revenue from the vikings) many people can argue that if vikings move they gain profit but same for the vikings if they stay (around a $400-500 million profit for the stadium after 30 year lease) please get this passed so I dont have to worry.
