Too bad the Twins don't have a pitcher of Johnson's caliber.

At what point is a person from some place? Born on I-90 near Alexandria, your a Minnesota? Twins should have gone after him a year or two ago when his contract was being negotiated. Stud for the future.

Perfect example of the whole "he's one of us" now garbage. Joe Mauer dispelled that whole game. Please stop.

Actually, Johnson is almost virtually NEVER mentioned as "he's one of us." I've known about it since he first came up four years ago and have been surprised that this angle has just never caught on. Same with Dan Johnson. Some guys don't get the inclusion to the club, while others have lifetime memberships.

We have now seen where Minnesota loyalty gets you -- a millstone around the neck kind of contract with a hometown hero who is only seen doing television commercials! The Marlins are apparently far more fortunate than the Twins with Minnesota-born talent!?

I would disagree that the Marlins are a surprise this season. The Marlin organization is one of the best in baseball, producing competitive teams season in and season out with a low budget approach. I'd prefer their current team to our current team every day of the week, and at about 1/2 the cost.
