The majority of poor rural people vote republican. As long as they vote against their own interests, they will continue to worsen their quality of life.

Here you go folks sexism at its best, lets get all those women barefoot, pregnant, dirt poor, in the kitchen, and slaves to the man in the house! If not then change the BS-law to say the father is required to provide 100%% of the child's support until they are 21. We don't want these kids on welfare and eating up our tax dollars now do we? Idiocracy at its best, punish the women but let the dudes run free!

Treating women without judging them is not "encouraging promiscuity," it's being a good doctor. Does this dude also freak out about geriatric doctors passing out Viagra like it's candy, for encouraging male promiscuity? Didn't think so. Which is funny, because the highest growth rates of STD transmission right now are among the elderly. For Tom Pritchard, "promiscuity" (what a subjective, laded term!) only matters when it involves a woman. Planned Parenthood doesn't believe in this kind of double standard, or telling women what to do with their bodies, and I for one appreciate it.

Planned Parenthood of Minnesota and the Dakotas is a for profit corporation. Why should it get government subsidies? Perhaps if turned itself into non-profit status and government could audit its book, it might deserve consideration.

Actually, Oppressedbyou, the majority of the poor don't vote at all. They're very much uninformed, too busy taking care of kids, working low end jobs, or "working" (completing requirements) for their welfare checks to worry about politics.

raymarsh, PLEASE get your facts right. Planned Parenthood IS non-profit. This is commonly misinterpreted fact, by those who refuse to educate themselves of the FACTS. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/newsroom/press-releases/planned-parenthood-recognized-top-ranking-nonprofit-philanthropic-experts-33536.htm

A women quoted in the article asked ""Abortion is the first thing that pops into everybody's mind when they hear Planned Parenthood, and I don't know why? Maybe because they killed 12,000 babies in Minnesota last year?
