An injury ended the playing career of Aeros coach Mike Yeo at 26, but he's already acquired some coaching chops by not taking the safe route.

Mister Know it all says: Making comments on who should coach is really hard for me to have an opinion. What and who are the Wild, the ownership and leadership should know what they pine to become, but that certainly has not been made public other then wanting to be like Detroit and play an up up tempo style and failing at it. If they want to be Detroit and play up tempo, why not hire Mike Yeo and roll the dice again with a coach and keep getting high draft picks like the Timber Puppies......

If Fletch wants this guy, he should give him the job. This is NOTHING like Fletcher's hiring of Richards. TR had little to no experience. He wasn't tough; he didn't have players' respect. Yeo has won everywhere he's gone, and unliek TR, he's ACTUALLY paid his dues. This guy's good, and I, for one, would much rather take a chance on him than sign a known loser in Mactavish or some assitant from Chicago that couldn't even win at the minor league level.

Bobo, I said on day 1 that Richards does not have credibility, just sayin. Rolling the dice produced higher draft picks for the Wild did it not ? Fletcher went to a good college and I trust he has thought through his plan but I have always questioned if his plan was what the fans would desire or is his plan matching the wishes of the owner. It worked for Blysma because of Crosby and Malkin, he had written a great book that makes allot of sense. It got him instant credibility and now he is on cruise control

The could do worse than Yeo. Actually, they did with TR.

Yeo is the man. Bring him up, fire up the troops, start rebuilding starting with the coaches position, make this guy shine with better draft picks and a future. He'll put it together, need to give him time. Don't go the Vikes way by letting an up & comer like Mike Tomlin get away, grab your guy now.

We need a coach with NHL experience. Maybe 3-5 years down the road for Mr Yeo. Richards was a big mistake

Why not Yeo? It doesn't matter who the coach is if your talent stinks. They need a huge talent upgrade before any coach can win with the wild.

They will still need to upgrade the talent no matter who the coach is. He will not have the luxury of a Crosby or Malkin and others to carry out a system. None of the "systems" really are the difference makers, it is the talent level of the players in the system and how they buy into it and respect the coach. Every system has breakdowns - watch the playoffs. It is the ability/talent of those players to outplay the opponents when there is a breakdown and to capitalize on those opponents weaknesses when they see it. I think Yeo probably has what it takes - but as I have said in the past - Scotty Bowman could not have done much with the Wild roster. I would just hate to see him be thrown into the mess before they have rejuvenated the roster - I have a feeling that there are pobably some other teams higher on Yeo's list than the Wild - and if I were him I would go for those if the offers materialize.

A less talented team needs a more experienced/respected coach. An immature team needs more supervision.
