You can't rob Peter to pay Paul. I don't disagree with gambling on moral grounds at all, I just think too many people are seeing magical dollar signs that will not come to fruition. Also, I feel we are going back on our word AGAIN with the Tribes when we negotiated back in 1989. A man's word is bond, when will our state keep theirs?

Gov Dayton wants 50 percent from this casino and we currently get ZERO percent from the existing casinos. What's fair??

I know they say it would be a Bellagio style casino. The bellagio caters to a pretty high end crowd. I dont know if we have enough of that here to support it

At least it's good entertainment reading how the gov and others are arguing over non-existent money from a casino that will never be allowed to be built. Too bad, this is one way of paying for a football stadium I would actually support.

If you are going to put up a 'state' casino, dwtn Mpls is the WORST place to put it. Nothing but trouble there now, only will be a lot more trouble later. I can't even stand going down there NOW.

I'm not opposed to gambling, in fact I enjoy it on occasion, and I would enjoy a local option other than Mystic Lake, which I hate. However, I think having a casino downtown would be a disaster. Block E already draws a rather seedy element; a casino would be several orders of magnitude worse.

What claim does the state have on 50% of the take? Are they a 50% stakeholder? This is robbery.
