Weekend transit service threatened

The head of the Met Council said proposed cuts could force elimination of Saturday and Sunday service.

I'd love to see all the details of this contract. Metro Transit clearly exists to serve the needs of the union drivers. Expect plenty of empty buses still cruising the streets to keep up with driver demand for overtime.

Wow, a Minnesota based union acutally AGREED to something. I am amazed. Maybe a few other unions around MN might take a lesson on how to best represent their members. DOWNN WITH ORGANIZED CRIME..sorry, I mean UNIONS!

Nothing wrong with bare bones bus service on the week-ends; less OT paid to the drivers. Only routes that generate revenue or don't run deficits should be used; eliminating the need for additional buses/employees. Taxpayers cannot keep subsidizing every need and want.

Um... most drivers are part time, folks. There are very few who get any OT.
