That is a loaded, charged, and misleading headlines. The "Great Recession" was in reality during the Carter years. Interest rates were over 20%, gas-a-hol was introduced, the 'misery-index' was originated. The authors of the story obviously are either very young, or have selective memories.

Quite the contrary, dvaudio. I am old enough to remember President Carter. Interest rates were high, but look were low (artificial) interest rates got us over the last 10 years--in this Great Recession. Fortunately, it seems like there is finally a bright spot on the horizon. Why not be positive about it?
