the man gets the flu and he is unable to play his position any longer??? later in the article you say his 607 plate appearances is tops in the league for catchers, what more do ya want, a batting title every year is a little crazy to expect don't ya think..I for one would like to read some articles from you where your not putting the home team or player down. There is alot of good out there why don't ya find some.

Dum Dee Dum Dum, It's 8:30 central time. Twins lose again. Even if Mauer comes back, what capacity will they use him? We could be out of the race already. Maybe shut him down for a few games next season. There is no sense in killing the guy. What is his buy out? Rebuilding looks in order and Gardy could be out of a job, just like our other pro sport teams.

Souhan, before you tell all of us peon fans that we are "silly" for questioning Mauer's desire, remember that us peons don't get access to Twins players and their routines like your job affords you.

The Twins are barely 1/10 of the way into the season and everybody panics. Two best players will be back in the next week and a third player who is probably at least the 7th best player will be back in less than a month. I seem to remember the Twins being like 6 games out of first at about the halfway point last year, about where they are now. Relax, and don't start panicking unless they're in the same shape after about 40 games.

Jorge Posada; 6-2; 215; 16 years in MLB. And a catcher. Come on Joe! I still believe in you!

So the new contract was a bad idea? I agree.

I've been saying he needs to quit catching for 2 years now. I'm not sure outfield is the defensive spot for him, but if he wants to play everyday past the age of 30, he needs to change positions!

It's time for the Twins to save their money on Cuddyer. Tonight he got his FIRST RBI of the SEASON. Not bad, considering it was the Twins 18th game. $10.5M? Sit is sorry butt!!! That'll open up a spot.

Take a little rest Joe. Kirby and Tony O always did when they were a little tuckered out.

Mauer to third, Valencia to SS, Casilla gone...done.
