His 2010 data also show he's right in the target range of his tax-the-richest proposal in the Legislature.

It's great to see a rich man that would rather fight for the greater good than a bigger fortune.

And he wants to spend billions of our money. I'm not sure how anyone could ever of voted for this guy. He is a typical liberal, tax & spend & regulate in good times and in bad times. They know no other way.

Are his capital gains taxed as income? Something doesn't seem right here. Either way, no way. How about a flat tax so those that use government can start paying for it.

And exactly how much more income tax did he pay than was required, both state and federal? I assume he kicked in an extra 50% above what was required because as a rich person,22 mill net worth, he can afford it. And only 8 g's in charitable, and one of the "charities" kills babies? Fraud.

Governor Dayton is a breath of fresh air. He understands that the wealthiest get the greatest benefit from an egalitarian society. There's good reason for the rich to pay more taxes. It's terrific to see a governor who understands leadership, governing, and policy.

You have to be kidding! No earned income? And he is such a charitable guy! A whopping $8150.00 to charity? Then again, liberals consider it the governments job to take of people, not their fellow man.

Dayton is not alone, there are plenty of "Wealthy" people who would support a tax increase on the wealthy. The greedy narsissistic wealthy are the problem. People who have more wealth than they could spend in several lifetimes and still crave even more wealth are the scum of the earth. With a republican legislature no one can complain about his spending because he can't spend or tax a dime the republicans don't authorize first.

Lifetime of public service? Doing what? He's 64, and he was state auditor for four years and senator for six, when he wasn't closing his office or falling off the wagon? Unless you count dipping into his own pocket 12 mil for a Senate run and now almost four for governor, what has he done in public service?

As the Governor of the state who is proposing to significantly raise income taxes he seems to be doing what I would have recommended if I had really believed he would be elected. He is selling a large investment where he has significant Capital Gains. If he had waited to sell in 2011 he might have had to pay the higher tax himself. Now in 2011 he has the option of not selling investments and lowering his income back to around $170K. Still puts him in the higher proposed bracket but he has pushed more of his income into a year where rates are lower (he seems to hope).
