The GM needs a coach, but he's out searching for talent, too.

Tonight the Vancouver Canucks showed their personality in Chicago by playing agitating undisciplined hockey when the game was out of reach for them. The Wild had a personality (Naegele,DR&JL) and I think its up to Leo and Fletch to establish what that personality is for them and then its much easier to know who you want to coach the team. When Richards was coaching the Wild looked and played like the Canuck's some nights, just sayin. Its not just about talent

You want motivation, bring back Wes Walz as an assistant hire with the new head coach. He has ten times the hockey knowledge and experience that Darby has, or ever will have.

Personally, I hope MacLean is the next Wild coach.

If Torchetti is as they say he might be the guy. They need as teacher for the young guys but someone who is tough enough to get rid of the "whiny/tempermental" culture that has poisoned this team. I think everyone will be somewhat astonished at what can be accomplished with a few personel changes(upgrades) and a better(team first) attitude with this group.

"He just works so bloody hard," Fletcher said of Granlund... Alright Fletcher... You're from England now, 'eh chap?

There is only one guy on my list for this bunch...Ken Hitchcock. Anything else is just fishing. Or you could say early golfing again next year.

Seriously, just hire Hitch already, we've already got his buddy Rick Wilson and I would support hiring Walz as the other assistant. With that coaching staff, this team would be TOUGH to play against. And Maclean and Haviland are not going to leave Detroit/Chicago to come to MN.

I have to believe Hitchcock would have had a bag of responses where there were none to be found this March. Gotta believe poise and foresight ought to be on the interview checklist going forward. That and someone who begins their sentences with "I" rather than "You" when asked a direct question. Psych 101 had TR subconsciously and audibly looking for scapegoats right out of the gate. Lesson learned? PS - Who's the sleepy kid with the mic? ;)
