Great to see the athletes getting involved in community stuff. My daughter just finished a similar spring trip from Northwestern, had a ball and (apparently) did some good, too. Everyone learns and everyone benefits. Now, back to the two-a-days....

Great story - student athletes or not. Hopefully, this will spread to teammates next year and become a widespread team event each year.

Nice story, and experiences like this can be life changing. The quotes indicate the players benefitted as much as those they were helping.

I'd love to see these great young guys excel on the field! But quite frankly, what they did (and learned) here, is probably much more important.

Way to go, boys. You want to know how to judge quality in a person? You look for deeds like this. You can't buy it, you can't sell it, you can't tattoo on your arm and the AD's office PR guy can't create it. It takes heart and substance and my hat is off to these young men.

forhawkeyes: "Trash collecting; preparing to put those goofer degrees to work!" Yes, they'll be picking up the used toilet paper that the hawkeyes degrees are printed on!

My folks came from Iowa, and I've many relatives and people I've met from there, and honestly I have not met anyone that would even remotely resemble forhawkeyes, pantherhawk, goldteamtool, or whatever he calls himself now. He's just an anomaly of the neurological kind folks. Just ingnore it.
