The governor is determined to find a way to keep the Vikings here, saying it would be a travesty if they left.

I am beginning to strongly dislike Mr. Dayton because of this and a few other things.

Glad to hear Tom Lehman is leading the Champions Tour money list, although it isn't surprising that he hasn't missed a cut there since the Champions Tour doesn't HAVE cuts. And it would be great to have a rental car tax pay for the stadium. I go to Phoenix a lot and most of the year the taxes are higher than the rental car rates. I sure hope that people from Arizona rent a lot of cars here so we can stick it to THEM for a change.

In two years, why might MSP be more like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Kansas City.... and much less like Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver or Phoenix? Hint: Which non-coastal cities field all top-four professional teams?

Why would we anger what few visitors we have here, with a car rental tax. That is ludicrous. If the expenditure is justifiable, let's pay for it. If it is unjustifiable, even a car rental tax is totally inappropriate.

wake up mn. the tax on car rentals is done everywhere for reason outlined. when you go to az. in the winter, you pay them a tax to pay for their stadium---- do the same!!!

There are numerous "NEW" taxes in the Vikings stadium legislation that was presented this week. Are the Republican sponsors of this legislation making Governor Dayton's case for "NEW" taxes. I think the legislation was not written by its sponsors. I think the legislation was written by someone working for and giving very very bad advice to our "NEW" governor. The legislation as written will do more to win the approval of 75% of the NFL owners to relocate the Vikings to LA than it will do to build an NFL stadium in MN.

Why would any local citizen care if there is a car rental and hotel tax at all? Other then to just give people who oppose a stadium something to complain about. This was also done in Seattle and it built them not one but two stadiums. It makes great sense to do this. Not a Dayton fan at all but this is a good idea.

It's getting to be like the movie Groundhog Day at the Strib with this endless stream of stadium articles. It ain't happening, get used to it.

Welfare seating at a Vikings game, are you kidding. That has got to be the stupidist idea yet.You cant afford the stadium now you want to sell reduced rate tickets and people wonder how billion dollar budget shortfalls happen.Good luck with that idea and SKOL VIKES!!
