With receiver at quarterback, Gophers move QB to wideout

Jerry Kill and his staff like J.D. Pride's talent, just not under center. So the former signal-caller is the new man in the slot.

Seems like a good decision. He likely never would have made it on to the field as a QB. Maybe he'll be a diamond in the rough and fins a hidden talent. We need a surprise WR or two to emerge - - though I'm still skeptical about Grey's ability to hit them. Love his elusiveness and running ability, have worries about his fumble-itis and inaccuracy.

Gopher Football---50 years of embarrassment. Honestly, do we "really" need to cover this team in April? Good Grief.

Who is not paying attention over there? Marqueis Grey IS and WAS a QB. He was not brought here as a receiver-Brewsturd turned him into one. Same now with Pride-brought here as a QB, turned him into a receiver. There has NEVER been (and probably never will be) a WR brought in who was turned into a QB. Get your facts straight.

Glad that the current staff is at least attempting to use the scholarship wasted to attract the big tackle from STP currently playing in Miami. It's about time someone moved him away from QB considering he wasn't the best quarterback on either of his H.S. teams...and who knows, maybe he will catch a pass or two before getting clobbered by a Big Ten linebacker and becoming reacquainted with the bench.

Will any defense the Gophers face have anyone lined up more than 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage? It won't be just "I dare you to throw," it will be "you can't throw, and everyone in the stadium knows it." Outlook from these stories from Phil get increasingly gloomy.

Pride will fit well as a flanker, blocking and catching 1st downs should be fun for the kid. I remember watching his dad, JD Pride, play for Lakewood CC, Coach Powers (Stillwater) and the Gopers. He was a big strong RB at 6'4, 235 and he ran hard. This kid comes from good stock, just get him on the field and let him do his thing. Gopher football back to winning!
