This bum should "move on" from professional football. Edwards hasn't done a thing since sacking Romo a couple of times in the NFC Divisional round a couple years ago and we all know what happened in New Orleans he next week!!! This bum NEVER shows up when you really need him to have a meaningful game.

I would pay good money to see Tom Zbikowski fight (KO) Chad Ochostinko. The big question mark for Ray Edwards is why so few sacks when he has Kevin Williams getting double teamed nearly every play and Jared Allen is receiving the TE/RB chip blocks? Maybe spend less time boxing and hone your craft instead ala John Randle, Chris Doleman, Kevin Williams....

Edwards has 16.5 sacks over the last two years, which is a very respectable number for a left end in a 4-3 alignment. He also had the Vikings only sack in the NFC Championship game against the Saints, despite playing on a gimpy knee. I'm not suggesting that he's an All-Pro, but he certainly isn't a "bum." He's a very good player, and hopefully he'll end up on a team with knowledgeable fans who appreciate the difference between the strong and weak sides of the o-line.

I give the guy credit for staying in shape during the off season. I'm sure one of his counterparts on the other side of the line is just rolling into bed after another night of clubbing down in South Beach.

Why is this news again? His numbers remind me of Fernando Smith. Let's see...Kevin-double teamed, Jared-double teamed/chipped, Pat-well...you know, which leaves this guy all alone. Maybe he's just not living up to expectations. Personally, he's living up to what I expected of him.

No, gadfly, actually he isn't a very good player (you stand corrected). His sack production involves NO double teams whatsoever. he is a lazy player who rests on 2 out of every 3 downs. He is garbage with an ego, and unless the fighter he fights is a complete eff-up tomato can, he will lose looking very bad. You, btw, are a very unknowledgeable fan. Scary unknowledgeable (about a 3 compared to the balance of the fans who opine on this page, who average out better than 6 - pretty intuitive fans on balance).

Why is eveyone bashing him? 16 sacks the last 2 seasons for a left d-end its harder for that left side to get sacks.

All of the Vikings players should consider alternate career choices. Clearly, they're not very good at football.
