Good luck to Burnsie and Clutterbuck in the international competition this summer! I wish i could get the games and see how the US does too. As for the future with the Wild, that should be settled soon enough. Fletch knows we can't have Burns walk like Gabby did. And he's looking to upgrade the youth. I would expect a trade by the draft. I've liked Burns a lot here over the years, but he made too many mistakes with the puck this year. Great goals, but we need more defensive responsibility. And, I bet he's the only asset other teams might be willing to shell out for. Fletch has his work cut out for him the summer. Let's hope also that he has a good coach in mind!

Burnsie's value is not what it should be due to his previous head injuries and a questionable year at "D". It may make more sense to sign him to a decent contract if possible and move him back to forward where he would be a forchecking nightamre for other teams and easily put up 20-30 goals. PMB, Brodziak and Burnsie would be a great line together. The Wild are actually short on power forwards and it may be healthier for Burnsie to do the forechecking rather than getting forechecked. The Wild actually has a glut of good young "D" which also makes this move possible. If Burnsie wants to head for free agency then we need to trade him for what we can get.

Hometown significant discount? Or 10% bump in salary? 1-step forward first half, 2-steps back second half of season? Despite what he may say/think publicly, didin't he actually get worse defensively? Besides BB, is there a more over-rated player on the Wild than CC? Don't think so? Have you checked how many goals he scored post break this year versus last? What if he quit focuing on finishing his checks behind the play, and actually got involved in the play while its going on?

Burns went from one of my fav's two years ago, too one of my least favs this year due to his excessive sloppy play. Being a veteran, the only thing I really love about Burnsie anymore is his patriotism and awesome dedication to our servicemen; I hear he even has a suite exclusively for current servicemen? wow..

I don't think the Wild have to interview Mactavish as he is a natural to be the coach of the Dallas Stars. His personality fits with that organization. Give me some more speed next year and cut the crap getting back to honest hockey. I say Hitch & Dick with sidekicks Walz and surfer Darby...... Hitch and Dick equals Lord Stanley Cup next year

Was it just a coincidence that Burns was better defencively when Mike Ramsey was here? I really don't see that you gain much if you trade him for a forward, the wild don't have anyone that can replace him on d,--every good team has a stud dman,or in the case of Vancouver, several very good dmen.

i cannot believe i am going to say this, but MKIA, i actually agree with you (mostly). when i heard Dallas as in the ring now too, the first thing i thought was, there goes Mac. and i think Hitch and Walz would be a great duo. it would be smart to bring in an Asst. that the player and fans already respect, and we all love Walzie, and a coach we can all get behind. and after that admission, i need a drink

Where else are we going to get a BIG, STRONG, FAST, TALENTED winger? Burns should be moved to a wing and signed to a long term contract. We better sign Hitchcock before another team takes him! To easy decisions.

If Hitchcock is going to be the new coach than you would almost have to keep Burns. Under the tutelage of Hitch Burns would become the great defensive player that he was under Lemaire again. Under no Circumstances to you trade Burns for only picks!

How many times has the Wild started over with Burns? How mant times is the next coach going to be the guy to bring out Burns' best? Isnt it about time his supporters realize he is what he is, a terrible defensive defenseman, and a streaky but inconsistent defenseman?
