Sounds like a class guy, not blaming others and not talking about lack of players. Best of luck to him.

It's a shame. Todd takes the blame for an organization that has done a brutal job finding and developing young talent. In the salary cap NHL, that is how you win. Reading this article is another example of the class Todd showed. He is honest, hardworking and even in a tough situation he takes the high road.

Wonder if Fletch will exhibit the same honesty and candor when he gets the boot, which, if it were up to me, would be in about 15 minutes... Chin up Richie. Best wishes always... Thanks for your efforts.

Fletcher needs to take a loooooooong look in the mirror. He is the one that gave Richards the players, or lack of, to work with.

So now the question of the moment is.....who can Fletch get as coach, who will produce better results?!!

I agree, Richards didn't have much to work with and when Fletcher is trading a great young talent like Leddy for a washed up defenseman in Barker... you have to wonder who should be fired???

People this will still be Dougie Risebroughs team until those lousy contracts fall off. PBM, Schultz, Backstro etc. Fletcher will have this team going in the right direction next year, probably not a playoff team but a younger team with experience. My guess, Burns gets traded for a higher draft pick this year & a 2nd rounder or prospects. Barker will also be gone or in the AHL.

How is Fletch to blame for any of this? Ever heard of Doug Risebrough? Fletcher is building the team the best way he can while still trying to remain competitive because the owner wants to win now. I think they will all realize they need to go with the youth movement finally, take their lumps, be bad for a couple years, draft well, and they will be back in business. With long-term contracts locking up all of today's stars, you can't build through free agency anymore, only through the draft.

People also overreact to the Leddy deal, pretty sure he got owned by the Wings yesterday and if he weren't from MN, no one would even care. He didn't draft Leddy, Tommy Thompson did. The worse trade was Fallstrom and a second for Kobasew, but I think Fletch has learned his lessons regarding trades.

Show me a coach that hasn't/doesn't make mistakes...TR got the shaft because the owner expected too much from an orginization he evidently didn't know or understand was hamstrung by he became a millionaire with such sloppy due dilligence skills is a mystery.
