The Twins management is among the most arrogant I have seen. It is clear that the way the ball fails to carry in this park should be corrected, but they refuse to acknowledge the error of their ways.

Seriously, zseanian? The way the ball fails to carry is management's problem? I thought it was a matter of air currents, elevation, humidity, a whole host of scientific factors. Do you really think Twins management has control over the atmospheric conditions in downtown Mpls? That was true in the old days, but you may have noticed that the new ballpark has no roof...

UGLY! I was at a Gopher baseball game at Target Field last Saturday and didn't' like what I saw in centerfield. They replaced the beautiful pine trees with an ugly black wall that just doesn't look natural when compared to the rest of the decor of the field. It really sticks out like a sore thumb. I know they needed to do something so the hitters could see the ball better, but I wish they could have come up with something a little more appealing than that. Take a look and judge for yourself.....

Z-man....not sure I agree with your comment. A home field should give a team a home field advantage. Based on the Twin's home record last season, I would say the field served one of its purposes.

The visitors sure didn't have a problem hitting homeruns.

I care about winning, not HRs. The Twins had the best home record in the AL last year, I would say the players adjusted very well to Target Field. See ya today at the opener. Go Twins!

I bet Luke Hughes can hit the ball out of Target Field! :)

How long does it take for comments to post in this new format? It amazes me the amount of censorship that is going on in the comments section of this news paper now. Every time they change the format it gets less user friendly and more thorough in its censoring of potentially offensive comments. BOOOOO

I absolutely LOVE baseball, the Twins, and Target Field, so this comment is not meant to be negative in the least. Just a question. Every time I see pictures or video of Target Field's field itself, I see the groundskeeper hosing down the infield dirt, even on non-game days. Really, what's the purpose of this? I know the Twins recycle their water, which I find fascinating, but it just seems wasteful and pointless to me. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Oh no, is poor La Velle trying to recite stats from memory? Mauer didn't have four homers at home last year ... he had ONE - an opposite field homer that barely cleared the fence.
