I think most of the fans will be going to drink and watch the opponents rather than the Gophers.

Allow alcohol in TCF stadium as was in the Metrodome. It worked fine there. The revenue is there for the taking. It's a no brainer! The avereage blood alcohol level of the student section will remain unchanged whether alcohol is served or not.

Let's not confuse liquor and alcohol. $7 Miller Lite will not get that many people drunk that didn't pre-game.

Lets quit dancing around the real issue of alcohol in TCF stadium, which would be students regardless of their age drinking and causing problems at the stadium and adjacent areas. The majority of students that go to the game are going to sit in the student section because its what they can afford. Just don't serve booze in the student section and don't allow anyone to bring it into the student section. Then require all alcohol purchases be made with a stadium ticket and ID. If they have a student ticket no booze if they have a regular ticket they can drink. Yes their will still be some cheating on this with people exchanging tickets but I think if you implemented this kind of policy that it fixes the 99% of the problem. As for Surly congratulations and I can't wait to see this one pass through the legislature, seems like a no brainer. The hearing was really lighthearted and there were lots of laughs and joking from both sides. Glad to see that we at least can agree on beer.
