Gas prices are rising and congestion is increasing. We need to follow through on our commitment to build and maintain a better transit system if we want the twin cities to thrive in coming decades. These funding cuts will damage our economy and competitiveness.

What about the easiest first cut of all -- cut the number of legislators by 66%... we can get by with only 1/3 of the total we have now, and just think of all the money we'd save!!

This is what happens when you vote in a bunch of short-sighted suburbanites who cannot understand life beyond their culd-e-sac.

A the train wrecks known as the Republican majorities in the Minnesota House and Senate. These guys don't have a clue, except what their lobbyists tell them. We could use some budget and transit solutions not ideology.

With gas prices increasing and congestion getting worse, we need MORE funding for expanding transit! By cutting service(which is arguably easier to do at P&Rs in the burbs), this decision only stands to make suburban congestion worse by diverting more people back to cars. What's worse, is that service cuts and fare increases hurt those who NEED it for access to jobs, school, and medical care - what are the indirect costs of that? A fifty cent fare increase might not seem like much to most people, but when you're living hand to mouth, $20 a month is a major blow to making rent or buying groceries for your family.
