Interesting how Burns was on the ice again for all 3 goals. This has been a trend all season. I don't care if he leads the defense in points. It's time to break ties with him.

If I was these guys in the minors, I would be bummed too! These guys are putting it all on the line every night, trying to make it to the show. To see such poor, inconsistant play of the Wild this year, and not being called up when you are playing well? He is probably trying to figure out his future with a different team!

All of you seem to think the crowds at the X next year are going to drop off dramatically because of another bad year. Hate to break it to you people but the crowds there will never dip below 17,000. At least not if we keep having .500 seasons like we are now. This state is way too passionate about hockey and there's way too many Wild supporters to let that happen. I personally wish the attendance would drop off big-time so we stop making such a profit thereby forcing Leo and company to finally get serious about making this franchise a legitimate contender by bringing in some big talent to draw the fans back. But until the Wild finally pull an Edmonton I don't see attendance dropping very much any time soon.

If this team is what the "brain trust" concocted, it would appear the problem is at the top end of the organization! The irony regarding this sorry story is that a hockey-oriented state like Minnesota has one of the weaker franchises most years, while place like Tampa Bay, Phoenix, Nashville, etc. are proving to be smarter and wiser -- hockey sense apparently doesn't depend upon sub-freezing winters. Our players are simply not good enough to contend, but somebody's lousy judgement brought them here in the first place!

Glad they lost today so they don't needlessly screw up the better draft positioning. I saw the game and saw some effort by the most of the players, heck even Mittens checked a Lightning player! However I see it as too little too late for him and others to show effort just so they can come back next year. Again I say give the young guys a chance and in the off season look at which veterans to keep and who will consistently give a great effort to be role models for the "kids"! As for Burns, one would almost think he is playing at this level so he will be traded. Anyhow, GO WILD, even if it has to be next year!!!!!

phingrove... I agree with you. By playing Burns the only thing that is happening is his trade value is dropping. Trade him for a forward... hopefully a forward that can score 20-25 goals.

I like it that Noreau was ticked at not being called up sooner. Someone in this organization has to care.

Glad MsC's guys from Houston are doing well. gtrcmbshp dot com. Great work Micheal. Are you sending Kent to Detroit? He just got back from STL. You deserve a day off from the woes. Thanks again for your stellar coverage, sorry you had to be inside on a lovely spring day.

@wildforlife, your right about the attendance not changing, I think they have a good 17,000 folks that they have in their wheelhouse and they basically have grown use to the connection to the team and that culture, whether it is going out for a drink and dinner in St Paul or talking about a new player or complaining about the team, those 17,000 fans are and always will be attracted to the team. Leo has no concerns that involve losing money. I am pretty sure that Leo and Fletch would justify the past 2 years and stay the course knowing that they have this 17,000 followers in their back pocket..... If they choose to dump Richards they would have to pay more money out of pocket for an experienced coach and that coaches salary could be 2 to 4 times what Fletch is making so I don't know how Fletch would feel about that. That would upset the whole dynamics they have going on which I felt would fail all along........ Hey, Fletch and Richards did not have to be rockstars if they had a star or 2 that could hold the club up, only 2 or 3 teams have that, Just sayin
