Keep Madden; he's a gritty, seasoned vet that brings leadership to the table. It's obvious he wants to stay in MN, and he doesn't seem to mind being paid the league minimum. Win-win for both sides.

Welcome to Minny Madden. The Land of No Hockey Playoffs but of course you knew that coming in and you just wanted your boy playing on a very good squirt team. My advice to you is retire before the losing rubs off on your son. As far as propping up the draft choices, all I will say is Cuma, Thelen, Puliot, Leddy(ma barker) Sheppard and Grandlund. That speaks for itself.

Keep Madden- There are lots of players to get rid of: Start with- Miettenen, Zidlicky, Barker, Kobasew, Sheppard Burno needs to retire, start down sizing the goalie pool

I'd take Madden for another year. The guy is a total pro. He's given much more than I expected and actually scored a lot more than I thought. He gives 100% every night. Here's hoping you stay for another year John.

I wasnt a Madden fan until the last half of the year. I was amazed one night, when he showed a burst of speed and went right through everyone on the ice. He isnt the sniper we need, but he does have the heart, drive, pride, experience and leadership that we do need. I hope they keep him.

I'm with mrbluesky. I didn't know much about Madden other than he was kinda a quiete, gritty player. He is a seasoned vet and I am sure he is a talker in the locker room. You have a vet here who actually wants to stay with the Wild and loves Minnesota. Keep him one more year and put the C on him as well.

A guy who is willing to leave NHL money on the table to stay here with his family is a guy we want in this community. I don't know whether the Wild should keep him, but this story would be one reason to try.

I'm flattered a bit that a class act who I have always been impressed with as a hockey player likes and wants to reside in the fine state of Minnesota. SIGN HIM!! Or give him a job in the organization somewhere. God knows we could use the hockey mind, integrity, class and determination. Heck, put him behind the bench with Ramsey and Walz (2 other guys I wish were still involved around here). Now there'd be a rookie head coach I could get behind! GOOD LUCK JOHN and glad you're sticking around! Go Edina! (can't believe I just said that haha)

Or maybe better still, have Madden and Bruno in the FSN booth!! Man, wouldn't THAT be a relief and a change of pace to actually look forward to televised commentary!!

@ PAUL68 & how do you suggest we get rid of Zidlicky? Trade him? He has a NTC. Buy him out? That would be two million a year for 6 years. Doesn't seem smart to me. Pull a souray & throw him in the minors at his 4 mill a year? Seems wasteful to me. As for the rest, they are all gone & won't be back, Madden is the only one who has a legit chance a resigning. Bruno just doesn't have the wheels anymore, of course in the zone he is awesome. So as with Nolan he will ride off into the sunset. The rest will seek their fortunes elsewhere.
