Good for her! The publishing industry is an industry like any other, and it's often hard to penetrate. It's great she found a way to work around that and could do something she loves and still make a solid living off of it.

I've read most of her books. They are good but will be even better with a publisher and professional editing behind them. I am sure it took a ton of work to get where she is and doing it herself is very impressive. I am happy for her. Her story is inspiring!

This is a very inspiring story for other aspiring authors. Maybe she could write a book about how to break into the publishing world with e-book publishing - it would also be a hot seller. On the other hand with a million in the bank and a building following, she can write only what she wants to. What a great situation. I'm happy for her.

As a Mpls. musician scratching for gigs/cash/digital downloads etc., I find hope and inspiration in this story. Lots of love to you Amanda.

It's an interesting idea to go with the publisher. The publisher takes a huge cut of the money and is not particularly transparent on what the "expenses" are they are charging against the writers cut. It seems like now established authors are going to self publishing because they don't think editing, artwork, and marketing are worth 78% of the take.

Fantastic! We should be very happy for her! How great it is, when somebody realizes a dream and becomes successful.
