He better keep his day job. Which will pay him $63,013 a day.

Yeah, that voice/personality will bring people to the state (sarcasm). When being interviewed, it's as if he's trying to impersonate the comedian Steven Wright.

I think the ad is overall cute. And Joe is at least above average in carrying a tune. I won't be looking for his CD release anytime soon, but I would watch and pay attention to the ad again, given his recognizability and likability.

I've always hated that argument. Low key doesn't equal winner. And I always bring up Tony Dungy. Yeah, that voice/personality will bring people to the state (sarcasm). When being interviewed, it's as if he's trying to impersonate the comedian Steven Wright.

Moments after the commercial was filmed, Mauer strained his vocal cords and his ability to sing is now in question.

If he did this for free (or whatever everyone else in the commercial was paid), then I heartily applaud him. It would be hard to step outside your "comfort zone" (I know he raps but singing is a little different). If they had to pay him more than any one else, I'd be disappointed. I think the commercial is "catchy" (pun not originally intended) -- kind of reminds me of the "Free Credit Report Dot Com" commercials.
