With the Gophers not in it, how can you not root for Wisconsin, with their two Minnesota kids leading the way?

Easy to root for MN students even if they are at other schools. We will never know why they opted for other programs but the result is they both have flourished there. Each coach has used their talents to best suit the team they are with. A pat on the back of their HS coaches also as they developed them before they went on to College BB. Just a good success story of Mn youths.

Who cares? This is not a Wisconsin paper. If the Badgers played any sort of entertaining basketball, then maybe people here would want a story about them, but..."On the next episode of 'As the Paint Dries'..." As far as I'm concerned, a MN high schooler who opts for Wisconsin, is no longer a Minnesotan. It's one thing to go to OSU or Mich St, but Wisconsin?! Yuck.

I wouldn't root for Adrian Peterson if he went to the Packers.

Adrian Peterson isnt from MN genius, terrible comparison. I also think its funny you can rip on a team that plays sound fundamental basketball, i would rather be a boring team that wins than a athletic and flashy team that loses. Had Dan Munson not been the coach Leuer may have been a Goof and had Tubby put in little more of an effort, Taylor may have been a Goof as well.

twinsfan69...I guess if you consider winning is watching paint dry you would not enjoy it. Why don't you ask the kids on Minnesota and then Wisconsin what they would prefer. Just like the Rose Bowl and Super Bowl, enjoy watching Wisconsin teams on national TV.

FYI Neither Taylor nor Leuer were heavily recruited by the MN Gophers. Believe it or not it helps to actually show an active interest in players like Jordan Taylor or John Leuer if you want them to play for your program. Wisconsin will continue to dominate the Gophers so long as they continue to outrecruit the Gophers in their state and get the best players/student athletes in MN. While the Gophers were recruiting people like Rodney Williams or Royce White the Badgers were stealing players like Leuer, Taylor and Bruesewitz.

twinsfan69, Wisonsin basketball is far more fun to watch than Minnesota, and not just because they win. It certainly is not "watching paint dry". If you know anything about basketball, you'll see a team with incredible control and focus; one who runs an offense and plays great D. As compared to MN who has yet to display a defined offensive scheme and to whom D is a "dream". Beyond that, Bo Ryan actually coaches the team during the game in such a manner as to keep them competitive (something not seen in Minnesota). If beating OSU was watching paint dry in your opinion, then it's obvious you are not basketball savvy.

Well the Badgers actually did recruit Royce White and Rodney Williams, I am a badger alum, but before making preposterous statements, you should really do the research. Since Tubby came to MN, the only player that he has let get away is Brusewitz. Leuer, Taylor, and Breggeren committed to Wisconsin before Tubby came to MN, although Taylor and Breggeren could have easily decommitted as they were both seniors Tubby's first year at MN.

Jer5Wil, wrong. Very wrong. He let Trent Lockett-Arizona State, get away. Also, Sam Dowers-Gonzaga, Raymond Cowles-Santa Clara, Marshall Bjorklund-NDSU, not to mention Mike Broghammer-Notre Dame who is better than Iverson or Sampson. He's letting Marvin Singleton-Northern Iowa get away - a big mistake. Next year he will let one of the best point guards in the country get away, Syani Chambers (he'd fit well at Wisconsin). Fact is, Tubby Brewster is a horrible recruiter and his MN record and propects for next year prove it. Do your homework.
