Congratulations Tommies - so glad to see you win it all, and to cap it off in such dominating fashion! It may 'just' be D-III, but this alum couldn't be happier!

I'm really proud of this bunch of great kids, and very happy for them and Coach Steve Fritz. Every Minnesotan can also take special pride in their achievement, as this University of St. Thomas National Championship team is truly a Minnesota-based team. All but one player on the Tommies' roster are from Minnesota high schools. Just to name some of the home-grown standouts: Tyler Nicolai from Hopkins; Alex Healy from White Bear Lake; Tommy Hannon and John Nance from Cretin-Derham Hall; Teddy Archer from DeLaSalle; Brady Ervin from Eden Prairie; Anders Halvorsen and Peter Leslie from Henry Sibley; Josh Pedretti from Maple Grove; and the list goes on. Congrats, guys, from a proud 1979 alum!

Minnesota is becoming a basketball state with the likes of St Thomas / Winona State / MSU-Mankato / and yes, Anoka-Ramsey !

And the other "Minnesota" basketball team, the Bedgers, made the sweet 16 with the Minnesotans dominating all aspects of the game.
