While I agree that a bridge is probably needed, I don't agree with the bill to ignore the Wild and Scenic Byways. The protection is in place for a reason! So, where is the money going to come from on the state level?? Will the State GOPers come to the beckon call of one of their own? Or, because Dayton likes the idea, will they want no part of it?? I just don't see where the money is going to come from. Maybe a toll bridge is a good idea...

I never thought I could say this, but here it goes, "Good job Gov. Dayton".

I choose to look at it as though there might be light at the end of the tunnel - given the rabid and chaotic polarization of the past 8 years.

It's so nice to have a governor who doesn't let party politics and political posturing get in the way of governing. Minnesota is proud of Governor Dayton!

How can this cost $700 million? Didn't the 35W bridge cost $234 million?

This Country needs more bridges. I don't know if a bridge over the St. Croix is one of them. But if people on the Dayton side of the river and people on the Bachmann side of the river don't start making efforts to build bridges between them, the outlook for our Country is pretty bleak.

Quote: How can this cost $700 million? Didn't the 35W bridge cost $234 million?..... That question needs to be answered. Is it because of state regulations? federal regulations? union rules? That is not a realistic price....open up the bids again

Now this is how politics should work. Coming together for the good of the people.
