Give this guy a spot.

A utility guy that can win the game with one swing - I like that considering our middle infield guys can play defense. Assuming guys stay healthy, no sense having a defensive wiz (like Punto) on the bench. I can see Hughes coming in off the bench and winning a game.

Seems like a perfect DH option against lefties, give him Plouffe or Repko's spot...even Tolbert if you have to.

I don't care where Punto is, on the field, on the pine, doesn't matter since he's in St. Louis.

Hughes looks to me like the real deal. He is still a young player as well. Just at that place where he is hitting his prime production years. Something tells me Thome will be part of a trade before the end of July. No need for him any longer. We like him, just won't need him.

There is no question this guy should be on the roster instead of Tolbert or Plouff.

so far he's no doubt earned a spot on the roster. I'd be willing to bet that he's a better option on the infield defensively than cuddyer was last year. plouffe and tolbert just aren't enough of a threat offensively compared to hughes; at least so far.

What makes sense doesn't always happen with the Twins and Gardenhire.

This is a no brainer. Plouffe and Tolbert are not competition. Give the job to Hughes and let's move on.

That's what Gardy's looking for, but it's still a fact that nobody can fill the hole left by Punto's glove. Fortunately, it looks like Hughes CAN fill the hole that Punto's bat couldn't!
