The return of Mikko Koivu helped, but it wasn't enough to overcome a Canucks team that built a 3-0 first-period lead.

Todd Richards couldn't motivate a chronic alcoholic to take a drink; the Wild needs to put this failed experiment out of its coaching misery by season's end.

So, going to the game this Sunday. I'd be trying my darnedest to get rid of the tickets, but I have to go (long story). I'm seriously considering wearing my Habs jersey. What do think, folks?

It's not Richard's fault, the Wild just doesn't have the talent. The fact that they have held on this long should be a testament to Richards getting so much out of this group. To can him now when they are actually following the plan would be a step back.

When Toddy Richards was openly looking around for a team leader, "anyone? anyone?" instead of looking in the mirror a declaring himself the leader of this wretched team, then that's mandatory grounds for dismissal. If he doesn't want the job of the team leader then he should be flippin' Whoppers at Burger King. Cliffy Fletcher can work deep fryer for the onion rings while we're on the subject. "The PLAN" stinks. Back to the drawing board, Mr. Goofball owner, and this time don't hire a couple of neophytes to turn your crum-bum team around.

What happened to Backs? He was so solid there for about a month and a half, but ever since he has been giving up these garbage goals that are complete momentum killers. Ughh, he has been terrible lately. I can't stand people saying that Fletcher should have traded everyone away when we held a playoff spot at the deadline for a chance at rebuilding. Can imagine how that conversation would have went with Leipold, not well. We all knew (or should have known) that when he took over, it was going to take at least a minimum of 3 years for him to re-stock the shelves after the horrendous job Risebrough did managing this team and system. Championship teams aren't built overnight people. I say in two years if we have not made significant progress than Wild fans and season ticket holders should be extremely upset and can say whatever about Fletcher, but until then, give him a chance to build the team. Grandlund and Koivu are gonna be something special playing together in a year or two. So look at the glass half-full and be excited about the positive things to come for the Wild. Don't know about everyone else, but I know that losing to the Yankees every single year in the playoffs is worse than the Wild not making the playoffs while stocked with a subpar, ageing roster.

@ wildfan60 Right, buddy. Just keep drinking the Mild Kool-aid. Two years in and the dimwit duo of Fletcher and Richards have accomplished nothing, but heck, let's give 'em some more time to really screw things up even worse.

Wow. The Gophers and Wild both need new coaches.

Should we just fire our head coach and GM every two years if they don't make the playoffs or win the stanley? Give me a break. I'm not saying that Fletcher hasn't made mistakes because he has, but it's his first shot at being a GM and it's a learning process. You think that Brian Burke, who is considered to be one of the best GM's in the game hasn't made mistakes? Look at the Kessel trade buddy.
