For a journeyman like Vikings quarterback Rhett Bomar, the NFL's lockout couldn't have come at a more inopportune time.

How much money is enough money? It all depends on who you are, what you are, and your life style, oh yes, and how greedy we are. Is more always better? Ask the lottery winner that's flat broke. Was he, she better off before winning. Dog fighting? that's inhumane, illegal and viscious. People fighting? I guess that's ok as long as it's legal, but it gets just as viscious. Lockout? Nobody wins not even the fans. Shake hands and play ball.

They should figure out a way to take some of that 9B and help the Vikings build a new stadium. I'm for the owners, rather than the players, because without the owners/businessmen, there wouldn't be teams, in the first place. That's not saying the players shouldn't get what they're worth, but many of them are already over-paid. It's too bad the original pay structure wasn't set up on fees based on position, PERFORMANCE (including incentives for goals attained), loyalty (time served with a team), and longevity in the game (as long as productive at position). We would be watching much better games if that were so.

Bomar has got a hell of an arm in Madden '11, not very tall though, could be an intersting project whenever camp rolls around... Brian Robison was coach Fraziers first signing, maybe Ryan Mallett is his first draft pick, Bomar could be a good backup if given the chance... Either way, the bill has to come forward soon for the new stadium. There is smoke coming from the capitol for Arden Hills.

Oh, and strib, nice banner of a countdown to twins tickets while the Vikings don't even know when the season will start, or even where they will play home games next year, or even when the stadium bill has yet to be even been introduced... As a Viking fan you may one day come to rezent Target Field if our team never gets a new stadium. Not to mention the fact that most Packer fans are Twins fans as well, shame shame.

Not Kidding. Watch some youtube video of Bomar and he looks a little like Favre when he throws. Its a real bummer for Bomar that he can't get to the playbook because I personally believe that Rhett will be a better fit for the Musgrave system. I am predicting that system will be very run heavy requiring an accurate pocket passer. Rhett can run too! I'm hoping Bomar gets a fair shot at the starting position. Mallett or Dalton would be nice pick ups in the draft. Joe Webbs 42 inch vertical and 4.44 forty time seriously makes him a better reciever than QB and we might need some WR help if Rice leaves and we pass on Julio Jones in the draft. www.vikingsnerd.blogspot.com

as a fan im going on strike and everyone else should to.the nfl is by far the most profitable sports leaugue in the world it aint even close and these greedy guys are fighting over the money.i blame the players look at the money they are being paid in this economy.the owners deserve to make a nice profit every year they invested there money and took a chance when they bought the team they own and shouldnt have to pay all there profits to the players.

You lost me after "trusted the owners enough"... It's all about appearances and image. The players set a rookie salary cap/scale. That way the owners can see what a rookie has before breaking the bank for him. That way, no current player on the NFL roster gets thrown under a bus. Both sides win, and everyone looks good. Next, set up pension relief for the retired players. Nobody likes to see yesterday's stars living in a box under a bridge. Both sides win again, and everyone looks good. Set aside a billion or two a year to help owners build stadiums. That way the taxpayer sees something...and everyone looks good. Do those 3 things off the top, and the rest is just numbers. Next...solving the Middle East issues.

You mean to tell me they were only 100 million short one way or another of making a deal when there was 9 BILLION to work with !!!...And with being that CLOSE could not work out another extension ???...Talk about foolish...

I have said before the Vikes should use the draft this year and fill up the O-line and D-line with fresh "big uglies"...And see what Webb and Bomar can do...Fans will never know what the 2 QB's can do by them sitting on the sidelines...Gabbert in the first if available or Ponder or Kaepernick in the second if available...Screw the rest of the QB prospects...J Jones in round one would look good in purple...Other than that stick with MANY of the other needs on the team...OL..DL..S..TE..WR..GO VIKES !!
