As a USA Hockey referee, I agree with the Air Canada leaders, tell Gary Bettman to kiss off. He should have suspened the Boston goon for that hit the same day it happened. What a dirty play, which is bad for the game and sends the wrong message to hockey players all over. For pete sake the guy in 6'9 and does not need to do that. The Habs player was no where close to the goal. It was a cheap shot, dirty play and should have been booted for 10 games. NHL leader is worthless, gutless and timid. You can't lead like that in this day. Time to resign and bing in a real hockey person, Bob Gainey for new NHL commish.

Mister Know it all says: The NHL is worried about reputation so they don't want to look at the hit and see that Chara guided the Montreal player into the turnbuckle just like Nick Bockwinkel did when wrestling Vern Gagne, Nick knew what he was doing then and Chara knew what he was doing now. To try and hide the facts when everyone can see them is silly........ Chara was yapping with that player in a previous game.... Dear John (130) I am sure has seen countless replays and could sure offer his opinion here one would think, John ?

go to NHL.com for the video. YOu will clearly see it's a dirty play and the boston goon should be suspended for 10 games. It's not funny if the Habs player never plays again. Ruins his chance to earn a living and maybe live a normal life with a cervical neck injury. Dirty play.

Wow. From a 64% concussion rate to a 1% rate comparing the old and new pads? Put 'em in the rinks! I'm proud of Minnesota that the developer of this is from home. Let's go MN, and Go Wild!!

Why does there have to be an L shaped stantion anywhere in the arena? What if there was a way to change it to 45 or better yet a 30 degree angle somehow? I know there are room restrictions but a smaller angle will deflect most of the energy insted of 90 degrees that absorbes almost 100%. Maybe they can make their pad to have that kind of deflection angle as well.
