Nishioka plays with Japan on his mind

FORT MYERS, FLA. - Twins infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka doesn't read the papers or watch television in the morning, so he didn't realize his native Japan had been rocked by earthquakes and a tsunami until he arrived at Hammond Stadium on Friday to concerned teammates.

There are some people who have a hard time putting things in perspective and try to make tragedies such as this about themselves. I think Nishioka handled this very well and can't be more impressed by the man as I continue to read articles about him. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and will be a great addition to this team.

It's kind of a cool vibe having Nishioka around. I'm a little surprised his wife didn't come over, maybe she will at some point? Poor Japan..
