Look ... Goldy's antics are part of the pageantry of the event. This is what he does. If the gentleman wanted Goldy to stop he should have simply told him so, and Goldy would have moved on. Punching Goldy twice was totally inappropriate and the punishment was completely justified.

I know many don't think this is that big a deal, and I don't excuse Mr. Dokken's actions, however, perhaps Goldy can learn a lesson from this. Many people don't appreciate mascots' antics. Mr. Dokken paid to attend a sporting event, not to get pestered by someone. Just because a person is dressed as a mascot doesn't give him/her license to invade another's personal space.

couldn't the show have been hosted on MPR? They are supported by the tax payers of this state after all -- oh wait -- MPR only broadcasts interesting and stimulating programming...

Goldy crossed a line.

Dokken just apologized on WCCO. Now when is Colthorpe going to apologize for invading Dokken's space and laying hands on him?

It's becoming an all too often occurrence at any kind of event where some seem to bother others trying to enjoy the event, no matter if they are in drunken stupor or yelling loudly, elbowing the person next to them either because the seats have shrunked or people have gotten fatter. For any of those reasons, I tend to stay away and find better things to do with my life. People are getting to be more annoying than ever before.

Crossed a line? Learn something from this? The only one who "crossed a line" was Mr. Dokken and the only who "learned something" from this were the dozens of children watching.

A mascot is supposed to do push ups and clap his hands. Not put his hands on fans. Leave the brawls to him and other mascots. The old man shouldn't have punched Goldy. But Goldy shouldn't be scruffing his hair either. Both got what they deserved in a sense.

Goldy has often been one step away from a similar incident at Walt Disney World and a sexual assault. When my friends go to game - they avoid Goldy because improper behavior on a previous visit to a gymnastics event... Finally someone took matters into their own hands. Goldy comes near me and I kick his/her ar$e if I am touched improperly or repeatedly!
