The Vikings VP didn't attend pro days for Cam Newton or Ryan Mallett, choosing instead to go to the Gophers' Pro Day, but other staffers may have.

Why would anyone show up for a Goofers "Pro" Day? They had a bad travel secretary?

Of the top five QB's mentioned as possible first rounders, there is only one that IMHO fits the Vikings needs and that is Blaine Gabbert. Since he undoubtedly will not fall to 12, if the Vikings cannot trade up, again IMHO the Vikings should pursue Vince Young.

The Vikings should pursue, in this order; 1) Donovan McNabb, 2) Carson Palmer 3) Kyle Orton. Get a veteran who can both mentor a young QB for a couple of years and manage games for the Vikes. The Vikes will succeed or fail offensively on the back of #28...all they need the QB to do is pitch in when necessary and not screw things up.

Sometimes I wonder what Speilman is thinking. Going to the Gophers pro day? What are you thinking? Also, I wonder if we give Speilman too much credit for drafting these players. They've missed more than they hit and it just seems that they get lucky rather than skillfully drafting players.

DO NOT draft Cam Newton. He's a good athlete but not an NFL QB.

Gabbert is going #1 to #4, while Cam is not an NFL QB. I like Adam Weber in the 5-7 round. Use the #1 for a replacement for Rice Julio Jones. If we can keep Rice this addition gives the vikings a very scary set of receivers. Use #2 on a solid Offensive Lineman, Pouncey if he is available to shore up the weak Center. Use #4 for Weber. #5-7 for safety help, project O-Linemen, project linebacker. Get the top Pass rusher in the UFL to shore up end if edwards leaves use that pick on pouncey if available. That is what I would do. This year will be rough-maybe 500, but rebuilding years, unless you are Bellicheck are bad.

Pouncey won't last into round 2

If Julio Jones is there at 12; grab 'em. A talented receiver can help overcame a deficient QB. Beg, borrower, steal Sidney to stay--- Jones/ Rice on the outside, Havin in the slot, Shiancoe @TE and AP in the backfield, solid weapons at skilled positions.

Pouncey most certainly will not last past the Steelers putting brother beside brother and absolutely not past Green Bay that is looking to continue to shore up the O-Line that played well, but not outstanding this year and the versatility of Pouncey is being center or either guard and the Packers have made very good choices on utility players as evinced by winning so many games & the Super Bowl with a roster of injured people with more talent than the likes of some NFL teams.

Use #4 on Weber? If that happened I would end my 26 year run of being a Vikings fan. Someone will pick up Weber but it will be as an undrafted free agent and not during the draft.
