Gillies is a piece of garbage and so is Clutterbuck; just not as large as Gillies. It is more than a bit ironic that Clutterbuck is disparaging Gillies over the hit Gillies delivered. Clutterbuck has a hard time dropping the gloves to defend his style of play. Those ARE the unwritten rules of hitting and fighting in the league; you've got to back it up sooner or later by dropping the gloves. For a guy who delivers the hits he does, he has an abnormally small number of penalty minutes. I have watched him hit a million guys and when it came time to back it up, he ducked his head like the p***y he is. This won't be the last time Clutterbuck is hunted and I think that is as it should be. I hope you are all proud of having a player who is slightly classier than the Rangers Avery.

twopipes, as wild and crazy as your comments sound I actually agree with some of the things you say. Clutterbuck is not just trying to remove a player from the puck, rather he is trying to rock a player. You can't argue that he is the best checker in the whole NHL and maybe the best ever. He is guilty of running around making hits so much so he takes himself out of position to do it.I say Clutter is Guilty as two pipes is charging, trouble will come his way and that is how it should be, so like I say what comes around gos around...... Note: Ciccereli had similar strength on his skates as Clutterbuck and that is who he reminds me of

Hnidyknight, I like how nice you are to everybody but me. The Wild played two crummy teams and really gave a poor effort both nights and now is when this team is to have a sense of urgency going.

Clutterbuck is afraid to get punched in the face, if this was anyone else the league should suspend Gillies the rest of the year but it should only be 2 or 3 additional games and only because it happened in his first game back. Clutterbuck can talk all he wants about clean hits but the boarding guys is just as dangerous as head shots.

Cal is a honest respectful player and you can tell on his hit he let up and the guy spun away fron the boards. Gillies seemed to have a b-line on Cal even before his hit. There is no place in the game for a guy like Gillies, he has no respect for the game, players or the great privilege he has to even be in the league.

I;m not going to be a homer on this one, Clutter deserved a penalty for that hit. As far as twinpipes goes, learn the game ! There's a big difference between a clean hit and headhunting by a goon, Clutterbuck has more goals this year than Boogie will have his entire career and will most likely have more NHL minutes in one game than Gillies will have in his career.

twopipes: you must be referencing the unwritten rules as narrorated by Gillies. Anyone who truely follows the unwritten rules doesn't take a run at people for clean hits, which is what Cal delivers 99% of the time. Why should he be expected to fight for a clean hit? That's the problem these days, guys are reacting to the effectiveness of a hit rather than enforcing dirty ones. If you don't like your team getting hit, then throw a couple of your own. Throwing a blindside forearm to a guy's head is much more p***y of a move than anything Cal has done.

the ref already had his arm in the air for clutterbucks penalty for his boarding hit...gillies -hit was a late, dirty hit after the whistle on CC.He DOESN'T even begin to fall into the same catagory as CC-and it appears he hasn't got a clue-being he just returned for his suspension. And according to twopipes"he's watched Clutterbuck hit a million guys" pretty good considering he's what leading in hits with around 200??? Plain & simply gillies needs a longer & harder fine to get it, that dirty shots to the head need to stop. On another note good to see the team turn it around last night! Lets get back on track and get those wins! GO WILD!!!!!!!!
