The Twins wanted the wart removed now so the recovery process could begin and reduce the risk of him missing time during the regular season, and Cuddyer agreed. "It wasn't getting any better," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "He'll miss a couple weeks now. Good decision, in my opinion. Better decision would have been to have had the wart removed a couple months ago instead of getting behind in ST. Great to know that the team's 3-4-5 hitters will all be starting the regular season with a week or two less work in than most every other player. Just in case you have forgotten, the Twins open up in Toronto and then go to New York. The Twins will be lucky to be 2-5 for the home opener.

Ya, you would think guys would be healthy and healed up comes the first day of practice. Mauer needs to start getting ready for the season, somebody on this team has got to step and get these guys motivated. Remember play for pride not $$. CMON TWINS!

@yarnivek, Did you notice in the Article that Cuddyer froze the wart off twice during the offseason and it kept coming back. It's not like he sat around all winter with a wart on his foot wishing it to go away. He was dealing with it and the treatments weren't working. So now the had it surgically removed which is still no guarantee that it won't come back. Warts are a result of a virus with no cure. They can go into remission, but they can recur at anytime.
