  • Article by: JILL BURCUM , Star Tribune

Former Minnesota Gov. Arne Carlson has weighed in on the Wisconsin labor protests, and is zeroing in on a measure that potentially could benefit Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s wealthy campaign contributors: the oil billionaire Koch brothers.

Pay attention Mr. Walker, this is a Republican talking. Or does Mr. Carlson's disagreement with the plutocratic party line make him a RINO?

A voice of reason, crying in the wilderness. Thank you Gov. Carlson.

Miss Burcum must of had a short deadline. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to find good old Arnie. Give Arnie a pen or a microphone- he will spout off usually on Republicans. Maybe this author could of actually used some effort a looked at this issue different....like interviewing federal workers who have NO collective barginning rights. Why isn't there protests in DC over the lack of collective barginning for federal workers? Why is President Obama taking away these "rights" from federal workers???

naseth - yes, it should certainly scare Mr. Walker when he is opposed by a Republican who also endorsed Obama for President, and did not endorse the MN Republican candidate for Governor. Arne has a long history of opposing conservative ideas - I would expect this from him and his opposition convinces me even more that this is a good move. I will give him this much - based on what I know I see no reason to exempt the police, fire, or any other unions.

Mainstream Republicans should come out loudly against Governor Walker, and many are. Walker is NOT a Republican. He is from the far right. David Koch's father was a founding member of the John Birch Society.

Naseth, Arne Carlson hasn't been a Republican for years. He's still mad at being snubbed by them years ago and has decided to parade around like a petulant, childish old man and be a "Republican" criticizing Republicans. It'd bet you probably couldn't find him criticizing any Democrats in the past 10 years - only Republicans. Arne hasn't been relevant in years and his opinion matters only to himself. He's just jealous when others have the spotlight and can't accept the fact that he's a "former" everything and a "current" nothing.

Careful Arne, you may get excommunicated from the GOP again!

Clearforce - Oh, Carlson's a Republican all right, he's just not a neo-con.
