The pair's working relationship has intensified since the Vikings made their coaching change -- and so far, so good.

With Childress having control of the roster, Spielman did not have a whole lot to say about personnel. After the good 09' season, I believe the Wilfs gave "all the power" to Childress. This off season, will be the time to see if Spielman/Frazier team are going to be able to build a winner. The Team has alot of talent, but needs to get younger, without having to completely rebuild. This will not be easy with no CBA in place. A major part of this process is going to be the FA market. If you can't sign any FAs, then you can only depend on what you have on your roster, and what you get in the Draft. It seems like 1/2 of the team are FA, and I can understand why most of the NFLs GM are not willing to sign contracts without a CBA in place. This is going to be tough, to say the least, but the other 31 teams are dealing with the same thing. Good luck fellas! GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spielman and co. need to have a better offseason than they did last year. They sat on their hands as their O line got worse, and they traded down in the draft--with no positive results to date.

I sense from Spielman's recorded comments that he's a bit full of himself; whereas, Frazier comes across--again and again--as a humble guy. I'd like to see that from Spielman, then I'd be more optimistic about their working relationship.

Unfortunately, Wilfy isn't smart enough to recognize that you need a better GM than Spielman to compete long term in this devision. Losing an up and coming 25 year old receiver to FA is a perfect example.

Spielman is an empty suit. Talks great, but doesn't have the chops. He goofed up the Dolphins, and is in the process of goofing up the Vikings, too. He's hit on a few, but not as many as, say, a GM in the state to our east. The triangle of authority that Zigmund has in place is and always will be a recipe for mediocrity. You need one person in charge, not 2 or 3. The Vikings are pretty much the only team in the NFL with this arrangement in the front office; maybe in all of professional sports. This ridiculous arrangement will lead to poor results.

Zekeman10.. you stole my post.. very well said. Let's just hope the football draft gods on our side this year. Nate Solder had a great Combine and he could fall at #12. Go Vikes!

To: jimroberts1 With the season ;ast year running over weeks without our 25 year old receiver and no CBA in place, do you really think Rice and Rosenhouse would have signed any contract other than a over paid one? Thats why old Drew has stated his receiver is going to test the free agent market. That had nothing to do with speilman. I say Draft best available or trade down to get more picks. Our line needs help, both sides. Our QB, even if its a "Highly" sought after rookie. What are the odds that they can make a big difference this year? We need a strong core. Yes that includes a qb, but, is it worth such a gamble this year? Unless teams let the top guys fall, we are better off with more picks.

Its Oh so obvious now why this team made some very bad trades, cuts, and roster moves..CHILLY had control of the 53 man roster. That man had no business coaching a flea circus let alone an NFL team! We will feel the Chilly hangover for quite a long time. I wouldnt give that guy a waterboy job.

With Col. Klink as our GM and our triangle of mediocrity, we failed to resign Matt Birk, Tony Richardson, Chester Taylor and Artis Hicks. Traded 2 players for 1 5th round draft pick, our best veteran QB Sage Rosenfels, and best punt returner, Darius Reynaud. Traded a 3rd round pick for a 1 month rental of a known trouble maker. Thanks to their other decisions in the draft room the Vikings are weak and need players at every position including the most important position QB. NFL Network's Michael Lombardi called out Spielman by saying the Vikings have more needs than "they" think. Who could keep their job after that kind of decision making? It will take 2 probabaly 3 years of excellent drafting to even get close to competing with the 3 teams in our division. I hope Zygi takes a critical look at our front office to see if he can't make an upgrade there like he did with the head coach. I think Leslie Frazier can succeed and win a Super Bowl if our front office can get him the players. Doing it the right way like the Packers and Patriots get their players and that's through the draft.
