Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker sticks to his guns

As the battle drags on, he has become a national hero and villain, sparking questions about whether Walker is a principled man keeping his word to tackle a $3.6 billion state budget deficit, or an ideologue determined to advance a union-busting agenda.

He's doing the best he can in dealing with people who claim to care about government budgets and then act as though they're meaningless; with people who talk a lot about unity, but who then use government as a vehicle for being in it for themselves; with people who claim we're a nation of laws, but who then champion polititians who refuse to even uphold their oaths as heroes.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I'm prettysure that there are few Unions who helped endorse his running. I hope he dosen't try to run for re-election.

Walker isn't budging on this. God bless him. It's time for the cowards residing in another state to return and let democracy take it's course as well.

"with people who talk a lot about unity, but who then use government as a vehicle for being in it for themselves" ____ Like Scott Walker? He's had a goverment job for the past 8 years, so, according to the righties, he "hasn't worked a day" in the past 8 years! Also, in right wing world, I don't think working for the Red Cross qualifies as working!

Scott Walker was elected by the people of WI and the majority of Wisconsinites support him. If you are not happy vote in the next election.

This just in. R. Senator Fitzgerald order a lock down of WI capital from protesters, then Walker blamed it on capital police, then state police came out and said the were going to sleep there with protesters. Blamed the police? Are we supposed to believe that the cops are the bad guys? Who is next, those nasty firemen? C'monnnnn...wait about 911????? This is signigicantly a disgusting situation. How did he get elected?

Dick Morris pole (right wing) showed 54% of republicans were opposed to Walker's stance on collective bargaining. 61% of Americans overall want workers to keep collective bargaining (this one is a little old, we've had Walkergate on the phone AFTER this number, my guess is it's in the 70s now).

"He's trying to deliver for the national movement rather than addressing concerns we have in Wisconsin." It is that extreme ideology which turns a nice guy into a demigod. The Scott Walker of yesterday knew better than to act as he is today.

Anyone who still thinks this has anything at all to do with budgets hasn't been paying any attention. Unions offered all the wage and benefit concessions long ago, but were turned down because it's all about collective bargaining and busting unions. The budget "crisis" was manufactured by giving tax cuts which turned a budget surplus into a deficit which could be used as an excuse for the union busting. This was clearly the plan all along.

"How did he get elected?" Simple, he rode a wave of Anti-Dem (= budgetbusting, war mongering, no jobs, and terrible economy) sentiment to victory. You may have missed it--but 11/2/10 was a once in a century election where Dems lost 70 House and Senate seats, and hundreds at the state level. How did he get elected? He wasnt part of the Democrat/Flee party..........Walker has become a rock star in short order--it's good to be him I guess.
