Shame that Ms. Meier had to ruin the entire story with her irrelevant insertion of the "racist screed" comment, and the recount from the scotsman that preceded it.

In 1969 I traveled with my cousin and father up to Norway from Germany. In Norway we never stayed in a hotel, just on boats like this one. In fact, perhaps this one since it was built in 1956. We still remember that trip fondly. At the time, hard to believe, the cost of living in Europe was cheaper than the USA, sometimes much cheaper. I am feel very fortunate that we were able to do that. P.S. The bit about the racist comment doesn't add anything to the article and just invites trouble, better off leaving it out.
