The Minnesota Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of Ronald Reed in the 1970 shooting death of St. Paul police officer James Sackett.

It's hard to believe Reed 'could' be released after serving only 17-1/2 years in prison. A sentence of life without the possibility of parole sounds more logical to me. My thoughts are with the family of James Sackett and the Police Officers who served with him. Your sacrifice is felt and honored by many in our community.
